" There is one thing I've always said about surfing and that's it is all about having fun. There are all levels of ability and no matter what level you fall into, you are capable of having fun every time you paddle out. I've found out though that sometimes you need to be practical and realistic about your ability and the board you are riding. Don't let the conditions of the surf or poor judgement in the equipment you choose to ride dictate your session in the water. You should know your options and change up the board you are riding if you need to because if you do that, I promise that you will re-energize your surfing. Always remember that the true definition of a high performance surfboard is any board that allows you to surf to your maximum ability in the conditions it was made for....it doesn't make you surf better, it just lets you surf how you were always capable of surfing. This year i am refining my boards with both progressive surfing and traditional power surfing in mind. In other words, I'm designing board that have enough lift to allow you to bust airs anytime you want but also have the down the line speed and drive for "on your rail" power surfing. I feel that the foundation of good surfing will always be power surfing and then you build on that with the other maneuvers such as airs, 360's, blow tails and so on. For each surfer who chooses to ride one of my boards in 2017, I'm committed to helping him or her surf to their fullest potential and the emphasis here will always be on the shape to accomplish that.
