" Even though I have shaped tens of thousands of boards, I am still a student when it comes to the equipment that we should be riding. I've always said surfing is all about having fun, no matter what your level of ability is. The truth is, while not everyone necessarily rips, everyone is capable of having fun. I'm learning, by firsthand experience, that sometimes you just need to be practical and realistic about your ability and what you are riding. Don't let the conditions of the surf or poor judgement in the equipment you choose to ride, dictate your session.
